There were three terrific winners announced this week in the first-ever Change the Web contest organized by Social Actions, and that great. But the really big news (to me) is that virtually anyone who applied is a winner, because the open API at Social Actions providing data from dozens of ’causewired’ (can’t help it) platforms lets any social entrepreneur launch something new on any given day. Still, kudos to the big three – here’s the news from Joe Solomon:
After a public online vote narrowed the list to 24 finalists, a team of eight judges selected the three winning web applications based on innovation, usability, and potential for impact.
So without any further ado, the winners of Social Actions’ Change the Web Challenge are . . .
First Prize Winner ($5,000) -Social Actions Interactive Map – Submitted by John Brennan
Second Place winner ($3,000) – Zemanta’s Related Social Actions for Bloggers submitted by Jure Cuhalev of Zemanta
Third place winner ($2,000) – SquarePeg’s iPhone Application – submitted by Dieterich Lawson & Isaac Holeman
Congratulations to the winners, the 24 Finalists , and all to all the Projects that were submitted
